Media Bounty to support the 721 Challenge

Nick Hollis on Mount Vinson as part of the 721 Challenge

As a social media agency with a conscience, we have the privilege of meeting some extraordinary people. None more so than Nick Hollis, an adventurer on a remarkable quest for our charity partner, World Land Trust.

These are challenging times. Our personal circumstances throughout the pandemic have highlighted and strengthened a resilience in us that we probably never knew we had.

But sometimes you meet someone who wholly demonstrates just what you can achieve if you put your mind to it. And they provide a timely reminder that the limits of human endeavour go way beyond a stressful pitch!

Earlier this year we had the pleasure of meeting Nick. He’s is what’s known as a ‘Seven Summiter’. A title given those who’ve scaled the highest peak on each of the seven continents.

He’s now embarking on a world-record attempt with the 721 Challenge to promote environmental responsibility and raise funds for rainforest conservation in Guatemala through World Land Trust.

Having climbed 7 summits, Nick is now planning to ski to the North and South Poles. He’ll then top it off with the world’s toughest ocean row. A relentless 2 hour cycle of sleeping and rowing 24 hours a day will power him across the Atlantic from the Canary Islands to Antigua and Barbuda. Rowers burn on average 5000 calories per day and typically lose 12kg during the crossing!

Nick hopes to have completed this extraordinary challenge by January 2022. Not only that, he will be completing the challenge on a plant-based diet. And it goes without saying, his carbon footprint will be kept to an absolute minimum.

We’ve had the pleasure of working with Nick on his social media strategy and will be supporting him every step of the way.
